Mandaue City Mayor Thadeo Jovito “Jonkie” Ouano signed an executive order on April 10 moving city government offices to a four-day workweek, taking effect April 16. The move is intended to conserve energy and reduce fuel consumption amid the continued rise in petroleum prices linked to tensions in the Middle East.

Under the order, regular operations will run Monday through Thursday with extended hours, while a skeletal workforce will report on Fridays to handle urgent transactions and emergency response coordination.

Residents of Cabancalan are advised to plan trips to City Hall accordingly. The barangay will continue normal hours; only city-level offices are affected by the schedule change.
